Total lost my vehicle just for using duralast part

I've been dealing with AutoZone for a long time, buying parts. I was in need of a blower resistor for one of my customer's Ford Transits.

I installed the part, and two days later, the customer called and complained that the car caught on fire; most of the inside was burned out. They took the car to the dealership and other mechanics to fix it, but they didn't want to deal with it. The car was a total loss, and I have paperwork provided to AutoZone. We have tried to contact them, and they've been contacting them for the past six months with no answer and no emails back.

I'm attaching some pictures of the burned vehicle.

I have the receipt for the part, and the worker at AutoZone is aware of everything and still no reply. I had to take it to the attorney general, and thats the last thing I told the manager at AutoZone and they didn't even care so I thought to contact duralast directly it might be employee problem and we'll see what would they say.

Battery warranty?

I bought a battery from the AutoZone store on Cleveland when I purchased my car. Today, in my hometown Findley, OH, I tried to jumpstart the car because it wouldn't turn on, but it didn't work.

I took it to the AutoZone store, and they told me it was a bad battery when they charged it. It's not even two and a half years old. They told me it was a bad battery, and they asked me if I had the receipt. Of course, I didn't keep a receipt for two and a half years, but they told me there should be a warranty on it if I saved the receipt.

So, I'm trying to see if I can use my warranty on the battery, and I have proof of purchase with the date on the battery. They tried to look it up by a phone number, but it didn't work. I can't believe how a battery I have used for two and a half years is already bad.

For comparison, I have another car that has been running for five years and is still fine. Thank you.

Defective battery warranty

Duralast - Defective battery warranty

Duralast - Defective battery warranty - Image 3

Good day. My name is Marco Antonio Salinas. On Sunday afternoon, I took my car to branch 7480 in Queretaro, because it didn't start. I bought the battery in April 2023 at that same branch, and I have attached the image of my account statement and photo of the battery. Unfortunately, I lost my physical ticket. They checked the battery and told me it was in good condition, and that I should check other factors. I took my car to a mechanic and after running tests, the diagnosis was that the issue was with the battery. We took it to another Autozone branch and it was indeed the battery that was the issue. Additionally, they told me that the battery was not of sufficient capacity for my car. The battery, brand, and capacity were all recommended at the Autozone branch where I initially bought it.

I purchased the battery in the area they have for suppliers and workshops with the supplier number 247967. Yesterday, I went to another branch to apply for my warranty. I brought my account statement, but they told me that they would only honor the warranty if my phone number was registered. I went to the branch where I had bought the battery, and before 5pm, they closed that area. At this branch, they had told me the battery was good.

I filed 2 reports by phone, 508**** and 122457.

For three days, Sunday, Monday, and today, the issue remains unresolved. I spent money at the mechanic due to a bad Autozone diagnosis of the battery. My car only starts when the power goes out, and yesterday they couldn't give me power at the Autozone branch because their equipment was not charged. The customer service was terrible and the representatives were rude.

What I require is a refund of my money for the defective battery. Due to the urgency of the situation, I had to buy a new battery, and the replaced one will no longer work for me. Furthermore, I don't wish to install an Autozone battery that doesn't guarantee it won't fail again and that it is not the correct one suited to my car, potentially causing other issues.

Almost killed me

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Jack failed while working on the car and pierced through part of the body while I was working on it. The jack started to leak hydraulic fluid and proceeded to fail from its standing position. The raising part of the jack pierced through the trip of my car and got stuck, nearly killing me in the process.

Problem with a floor jack

Duralast - Problem with a floor jack
Duralast - Problem with a floor jack - Image 2

I just called this company to get a screw for a floor jack and sent two pictures. This nice lady named Claudia was very unhelpful and very rude.

Instead of accepting two pictures, she insisted on four pictures of one insignificant screw. People, if you're planning to purchase a jack, don't buy it from this company because they will not assist you.

The first person I spoke with, I asked him to hang on so I could bring my wife into the call, and guess what he did? He hung up.

Bad customer, communication, About warrantees

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

So I bought a battery and I was told it had a three-year warranty and one year and a few days after purchasing battery, my motorcycle cut off on me and come to find out the terminal on the battery broke off the battery. I tried to return battery under warranty and that is when I found out that there is no three-year warranty three year warranty is only on car batteries, motorcycle batteries or other sports batteries yet when the battery was being purchased, I was told it had a warranty of three year replacement but that is not the case so now I am out the money of my battery I purchased out the money from purchasing another battery plus were having to get it towed because they did not warranty my battery when its obvious breaking off going down the road has nothing to do with insolation has nothing to do with the way the batteries being used.

It is a manufacturing defect, but I was told pretty much tough luck. Theres only a 90 day warranty on motorcycle batteries not a three-year warranty like I was told even online, this is a three-year warranty unless you scroll all the way down to the very bottom then it will say something about a motorcycle battery warranty you say Im not very happy

Bad batteries

Bought an Auto zone Duralast battery 3 years ago because they install for free. 2 year free replacement guarantee.

It died just short of 2 years. They replaced it with another, explaining no more than one warranty replacement per customer. Now this one died just short of 2 years again.

Steer clear of Duralast. Lesson learned.

Battery

My issue was resolved. A store employee at the location where I purchased the Battery told me that they did not carry my Battery anymore.

He also directed me to call Duralast to try to get the Battery on my own. When I called Duralast I found out that Auto Zone and Duralast were the same company.

I returned to the same store later on the same day and spoke to a supervisor regarding what had happened. She ordered the Battery for me and it arrived at 11:00AM the next day.
